As one might imagine the ZT stands for Zero Torque and this mallet is a redo of one of their previous shapes, the Battle Ready II Bat Attack. The straight shaft’s S-hosel aligns the shaft axis over the center of gravity of the head which is a hollow polymer-filled stainless steel construction that relocates the mass to the perimeter.
The polymer fills 31% of the internal volume which helped to move weight to the perimeter for higher MOI while retaining the zero torque characteristics.
The very thin face is milled in the third generation of PXG’s distinctive pyramid pattern to achieve both softness and response typical of milled putters. The two sole weights can be replaced to change head weight from as little as 375g to as much as 395g depending on the user’s need and result from a professional fitter.
Players will immediately notice the heel mounted S-hosel (which helps for a toe-up balance) at address has a built-in forward press of 2° to aid in keeping the face square throughout the stroke. The S-hosel design also keeps the putter face square to the path, the essence of zero torque designs.
