Dean Prince of Rocklin made a birdie on the fifth playoff hole and turn back three-time champion Mark Morgan of Shingle Springs and win the 54th Sacramento City Senior Championship at Bing Maloney Golf Course.
Gary Ramsden claimed the Super Senior Championship by one stroke over two-time defending champion Jeff Burda of Modesto.
Prince carded a score of 70-72—142, while Morgan, who won this tournament in 2015 and 2019 in addition to tying for the title in 2020, totaled 71-71—142, and Chris Bailey of El Dorado shot 71-72—143 to tie for third with William Bunce of El Dorado Hills, who also finished at 71-72—143.
Ken Crawford of Elk Grove carded a score of 72-72—144 to tie for fifth with Chris Miller of Brentwood, who wound up at 70-74—144, while Philip Yim of Petaluma was seventh at 73-72—145, followed by James Sewell of Shingle Springs at 73-73—146.
Dennis Dachtler of Folsom posted a score of 75-72—147 to tie for ninth with Jeff Weiss of Roseville, who shot 72-75—147, Terry Foreman of Brentwood, who also finished 72-75—145, and John Rotteveel of Dixon, who came in at 70-77—147.
Defending champion Tony Padilla of Sacramento, the 2017 Northern California Senior Amateur champion, tied for 19th at 76-74—150.
Ramsden won the Super Senior title with a score of 73-65—138, while Burda, who also won the Senior tournament in 2008, was second at 70-69—139, followed by Joey Ferrari of Stockton, the 2017 Senior winner, at 72-70—142, Jim Williams of Orinda at 71-73—144, Scott Anderson of Danville at 73-72—145, and Robbie Thompson of Merced, the 2006 Senior winner, at 72-74—146.
Bob Thomason of Lodi shot 74-74—148 to tie for seventh with Craig Gandy of Lincoln, who also finished at 74-74—148, while Greg O’Malley of Santa Rosa was ninth at 70-79—149, followed by Bob Schoenherr of Lincoln, who came in at 75-77—152.
