Ping has improved the already impressive forgiveness of the G430 Max 10K in the new G440 K with some very nice design features beginning with moving the center of gravity further away from the face, i.e. towards the rear, and lower towards the sole. This provided the additional benefit of heling with ball speed which equates to more distance.
The weight saved using the carbon fiber sole and crown meant the adjustable rear weight could be four grams more than in the previous model and that helped the ball flight shape tendency from neutral to fade or draw. Grams of weight to lower the center of gravity were also gained with a “skinnier” hosel.
All of the changes put together give the G440 K the highest MOI or resistance to twisting of any Ping driver.
There is also for seniors and women a lightweight build G440 K HL to generate higher launch for more distance built with a back weight of fewer grams, an ultra-light 46″ PING Alta Quick shaft, and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip.
“The combined MOI of the G440 K driver surpasses our previous mark and continues our pursuit of engineering the highest-performing drivers in the world,” said Ping CEO & President John K. Solheim. “It’s a remarkable accomplishment for our engineering team to offer golfers this new level of forgiveness with the benefits of weight adjustability.”
Of note is the pricing for the G440 K versus the G330 Max 10K, the previous comparable model from 2024, $705 to $650.
