Annie Park of USC collected the sixth individual title of her college career and led the Trojans to victory in the Windy City Collegiate Championship at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Ill.
Park, a junior from Levittown, N.Y., fresh off a tie for third in Stage II of LPGA Tour Qualifying School, posted a score of 73-73-69–211 to overtake Lina Aguillon of Ohio State, who finished at 70-71-73–214, while Nattapan Siritrai of was third at 72-72-71–215.
“Annie sure played strong golf,” said Coach Andrea Gaston, whose team claimed its first victory of the season after recording a school-record seven victories last season. “She had a great back nine and that helped lead the way.
“It was a good team effort. I’m proud of Doris (Chen) for another strong outing. Hopefully she can continue to learn to finish strong, which she showed she can do at the NCAA Championships last year.”
Chen tied for fourth at 71-73-72–216, while Karen Chung tied for 19th at 75-70-77–222, Gabriella Then tied for 37th at 75-75-78–228, Elizabeth Doty tied for 41st at 75-77-77-299 and Victoria Morgan tied for 54th at 78-80-74–302 for the Trojans.
Northwestern was second at 300-287-292–879, followed by Iowa State at 297-288-293–888, Arizona at 300-294-297–891 and Oklahoma State at 300-287-304–893.
