Tony Padilla of Sacramento captured the 45th Sacramento County Senior Championship by three strokes over Bryan Lynn of Bakersfield at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in Carmichael.
Padilla, who won the 2017 SCGA Senior Championship with a 70-foot birdie putt on the final hole at Poppy Hills, posted a winning score of 70-72—142, 2-under-par, while Lynn finished at 73-72—145, followed by 2015 champion Jim Knoll of Sunnyvale at 71-75—146 and Terry Foreman of Brentwood at 72-75—147.
Scott Anderson of Walnut Creek shot 74-74—148 to tie for fifth with Ken Noonan of Pacific Grove, who finished at 74-74—148, and Joey Ferrari of Stockton, who wound up at 73-75—148.
James Camaione of Upland wound up at 74-75—149 to tie for eighth with James Sewell of Cameron Park, who totaled 72-77—149, defending champion Dave Baskins of Sacramento, who finished at 72-77—149, Patrick Henry of Elk Grove, who was at 71-78—149, and Mark Morgan of Shingle Springs, who came in at 72-77—149.
Bob Thomason of Woodbridge took the Super Seniors title with a score of 70-74—144, followed by Bob Olds of Brentwood at 71-74—145, and 2015 champion Ron Johnson of Walnut Creek at 75-74—149.
Mark Miller of Brentwood, the 2016 champion, shot 76-74—150 to tie for fourth with Gary Vanier of Pleasant Hill, who finished at 75-75—150, Tom Lyons of Brentwood, who wound up at 73-77—150, and Bob Cook of Huntington Beach, who was a 76-74—150.
Defending champion Rob Adolph of Fresno was eighth at 74-77—151, while Herb Jensen of Carmichael totaled 78-75—153 to tie for ninth with 2014 winner Dennis Younglove of El Macero, who came in at 75-78—153.
