Omni La Costa Resort

After recent completion of the Champions Course, a redesign of Dick Wilson’s only California design, Omni La Costa Resort and Spa invites you to follow in the footsteps of legends at the historic home of 37 PGA events, rebuilt for the modern player. Adding a handicap to the already ambitious course are redesigned bunkers — true to the spirit and character of Dick Wilson’s signature design — now stacked, staggered and strategically placed throughout each hole. Tighten your game on the rough narrow course with planted native grasses. Keep your equipment dry while in the trenches with a modern drainage system installed for sustainability, improving water flow and irrigation throughout both the Champions and South golf courses. Other upgrades include tee boxes, landscaping bridges, fairways and greens, wetlands and rerouted paths. Additionally, the new golf course is family friendly, with all new family tees.

Under the direction of the Champions Course architects, Pascuzzo & Pate Golf Design, all 18 holes on Legends Golf Course were renovated, while maintaining the classic Dick Wilson-Joe Lee design. The multifaceted makeover includes a complete reconstruction and redesign of all 18 greens, as well as a thorough resurfacing of tee complexes, all-new bunkering and the planting of paspalum turfgrass in the fairways.

Legends Course is more spacious than the Champions Course, with a more open look, while providing a complementary set of strategic challenges and a variety of visual encounters.
