With round 2 in the books, you begin to see the cream of the crop rise to the top. Round 1 leader, Wil Collins, showed some grit as bogeyed his first three out of four holes but had five birdies to shoot 1-under par 69. He holds a two shot lead over Joe Parkinson of Alpine, Utah and Colin Featherstone of Fallbrook, California. Dusty Fielding of St. George, Utah made the biggest move, carding a 7-under par 63 at Monarch Beach, the lowest round shot there this week. Dusty sits in a tie for fourth at 7-under with 2015 SCPGA Omega Player-of-the-Year Michael Block, PGA who shot a 5-under par 67 at his home course, Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club. Conditions seemed to be a bit more windy resulting in Arroyo Trabuco G.C. playing nearly a full two shots harder in Round 2 (R1:72.81 to R2:74.74). Monarch Beach Golf Links however, didn’t get the memo and actually played a half stroke easier in round 2.
