Yealimi Noh of Concord closed with a 5-under-par 67 to win the Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship by three strokes over Elizabeth Wang of San Marino on the South Course at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Noh, a 16-year-old junior at Carondelet High, carded seven birdies in the final round and recorded a score of 65-70-67—202, 14 under.
“I was really excited going into the round today,” said Noh, who also won the 2017 AJGA Girls Championship in Greenville, S.C., and also played on the United States team that won the 2017 Junior Solheim Cup. “I like where my game is right now. I’m playing pretty well over all.
“It was a lot of fun and really intense when Elizabeth got a birdie and then I got one. It made it really fun.”
Wang finished at 65-70-67—202, while Emily Mahar of Phoenix was third at 74-63-70—207, followed by Kathleen Scavo of Benecia at 72-70-67—209.
Briana Chacon of Whittier was fifth at 70-70-71—211, followed by Ty Akabane of Danville at 70-70-71—211, while Sabrina Iqbal of San Jose shot 71-70-73—214 to tie for seventh with Alex White of Lompoc, who finished at 69-73-72—214, and Libby Winans of Richardson, Texas, who came in at 74-71-69—214.
Katherine Muzi of Walnut Creek totaled 70-77-68—215 to tie for 10th with Amy Zhang of Lake Mary, Fla., who wound up at 76-69-70—215, and Ashley Menne of Surprise, Ariz., who shot 70-77-68—215.
Previous winners of the Silver Belle Championship include Paula Creamer, Pat Hurst, Cheyenne Woods, Emilee Klein, Yani Tseng and Angel Yin.
