An update of Mizuno’s middle of the road iron family was due since the previous version, the JPX923s came out two years ago.
The face of the JPX925s is their elliptical shaped Cortech design and 30% thinner than previously in a cup-type construction engineered for more ball speed. The 4-7 irons of each model have internal tungsten weighting placed near the sole which both lowers the sweet spot and aids in producing a higher launch. Soles are constructed in a variable thickness design to improve face flex at impact.
Note the stock lofts in the Hot Metal standard and the Pro version are the same which facilitates a mixed or combo set of standard long irons and Pro middle and short irons.
David Llewellyn Mizuno’s Director of R&D was quoted in the announcement of the new series, “The new Hot Metal iron family introduces a multi-material design, strategically incorporating tungsten into our Nickel Chromoly designs, enhancing distance with impressive height and spin. With three distinct models to choose from, each offering extensive custom fitting options, we uphold the quality and craftsmanship Mizuno is renowned for. We are dedicated to continually setting new standards of performance in the industry.”
