New Kalea line for women by TaylorMade

TaylorMade has recently announced its first exclusive equipment offering for women in more than a decade.

The company’s Kalea line features 13 different clubs, including a driver, fairway woods (3, 5 and 7), Rescue hybrids (4 and 5), transitional irons (6 and 7), traditional irons (8 and 9), a pitching wedge, a sand wedge and a putter.

Each club can be purchased individually but the company will be selling 10-piece (driver, 3-wood, 4-5 rescue, 6-SW), eight-piece (4-5 rescue, 6-SW) and six-piece (6-SW) pre-sorted sets.

In addition to the clubs, the company will also produce a new Kalea golf ball. A matching Kalea cart bag will be sold separately.

“We’ve learned a great deal about product performance in the last decade, much of which was geared toward faster swing speeds,” TaylorMade’s senior director of product creation Tomo Bystedt said in a release.

“For us, Kalea was a great opportunity to take our learnings on slower swing speeds and bring them to market with products that provide meaningful performance for female players, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”

The clubs will be available starting Dec. 4. The 10-piece set will retail for $1,399, the 8-piece set for $899, and the six-piece set for $675. The putter and a cart bag are priced at $149 and $189, respectively.

The Kalea golf balls carry an MSRP of $19.99 a dozen.
