Na ties Moore for Lead in Malaysia

Kevin Na of Diamond Bar shot 5-under-par 67 to tie defending champion Ryan Moore, who also had a 67, for the lead after three rounds of the CIMB Classic at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sergio Garcia, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 4 in the World Golf Rankings, was one shot back after a 68 and was tied for third with second-round leader Billy Hurley, who had a 71.

Two shots further back in a tie for fifth were Gary Woodland (66), Kevin Chappell (70) of Fresno and UCLA, Kevin Streelman (71) and Sang-moon Bae (68) of South Korea.

“Sergio, Ryan Moore, Kevin Streelman, Chappell — any of those guys can get out there and play well,” said Na (pictured), who passed up his senior year at Diamond Bar High to turn pro in 2001 at the age of 17. “You can’t set yourself an opponent, you have to play the golf course.”

Na, who captured the 2002 Volvo Masters of Asia in Malaysia when he was 18, has one PGA Tour victory, in the 2011 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
