Monarch Beach Golf Links will host the Inaugural Patriots 4 Warriors Pro/Warrior/Am March 20 benefiting Folds of Honor and Warriors for Freedom.
The tournament kicks off with a 10 a.m. clinic followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start and a 5:30 p.m. awards reception. The cost is $100 for professionals, $250 for amateurs. There is no fee for wounded veterans.
PGA professional Joe Grohman, who’s worked with countless veterans with disabilities from war casualties, will host the golf clinic.
The Folds of Honor Foundation provides scholarships for the children and spouses of wounded veterans. Warriors for Freedom supports veterans with physical, mental and wellness services.
“Warriors for Freedom in partnership with Folds of Honor is making immediate and lasting impacts everyday across California and the country,” said retired Army Major Ed Pulido, organization founder and tournament emcee. “This event will help us make an even more dramatic impact right here in California.”

JOURNEY AT PECHANGA TO MARK FIFTH ANNIVERSARY
As Temecula’s Journey at Pechanga gets ready to celebrate its five-year anniversary, the course has unveiled an all-new fleet of carts, upgrades to the course and more affordable green fees.
Rates now range from $99 to $129. Twilight rates are $59 to $69. Hotel guests pay $89 to $99 prime time and $49 to $59 for twilight golf.
“Unfortunately, Journey opened at the absolute worst time during the Great Recession,” said Director of Golf Scott Mallory about the 2008 opening. “But by providing a world-class course at a great value and unparalleled customer service, we received outstanding word-of-mouth and industry recognition that allowed us to thrive.”
The facility is continuing to upgrade its amenities. New custom Yamaha golf carts are now in use, navigating the rugged terrain of Journey’s elevated tees. And there have been improvements to the greens, where specialty mowers create a type of cut that helps preserve their condition.
