Esther McKinley of Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara captured the Southern California Golf Association’s Senior Women’s Net Championship by two strokes at Glendora Country Club.
McKinley posted a score of 79-79—158, 12-over par, while Jan Giles of Glendora CC shot 82-78—180 to tie for second with Kim Jordan of Hacienda Country Club in La Habra Heights, who wound up at 78-82—180.
“I’m a little surprised to be honest,” McKinley said. “It was a tough course setup but that’s the way it should be. I’m super happy to be on top.”
Robin Krieger of North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village was fourth at 82-79—161, followed by Liz Mitchell of Dif’rent Strokes Golf Club in Los Angeles at 82-81—163, while Germaine Warner of Industry Hills Golf Club finished at 86-78—164 to tie for sixth with Wendy Jacobs, also of Industry Hills, who came in at 83-81—164.
Sonya Brady of Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield was eighth at 78- 88—166, followed by Jody Ducos of Saticoy Country Club in Somis at 83- 84—167 and Topaz Kalmon of Oakmont Country Club in Glendale at 84- 84—168.
