Kyle Maspat of San Diego rallied to win the Concord City Amateur Championship by one stroke over Mason Troike of Orangevale at Diablo Creek Golf Course in Concord.
Maspat, a sophomore at Cal who transferred in this fall from UC Santa Barbara, carded a score of 69-69—139, 6-under-par, while Troike finished at 67-72—139.
Travis Peterson of Santa Rosa was third at 73-67—140, followed by Connor Golembiski of Redmond, Wash., at 71-72—143, Tanner Hughes of Livermore at 69-75—144, and Andrew Moren of Turlock at 74-71—145.
Tony Ralph of Sunnyvale shot 72-74—146 to tie for seventh with Jeffrey Williamson of Concord, who also finished at 72-74—146, and Kyle Dozier of Pittsburg, who wound up at 70-76—146, while Derek Heisig of Pleasanton totaled 76-71—177 to tie for 10th with Andy Nevin of Danville, who came in at 73-74—147.
Ramy Moharram of San Leandro claimed the Handicap Flight at 72-65—137, followed by Karl Moberg of Palo Alto at 73-67—140, Dave Ware of Napa at 75-67—142, and Craig Simpson of Martinez at 71-73—144, while John Scott Senz of Pleasant Hill shot 74-74—148 to tie for fifth with Arron Goodin of Oakland, who wound up at 72-76—148.
