Do you want to learn how to hit and draw and tired of hitting that short weak slice? It’s extremly important for you to undersatnd that your club must approach the ball at the proper angle so the ball can start on the correct path to produce a draw. If you can undersatnding the correct path to produce a draw, you can develop better fundamentals that will allow you to repeat that swing on a regular basis.
The first step is to keep your back to the target as you start your downswing. This will prevent your left shoulder from pulling away from the ball and help the shaft shallow allowing you to hit the inside part of the ball. Notice in the photo below you can still see my chest and left shoulder. The club shaft drops in place and now works parallel to my right forearm and runs through my bicep.
Most slicers (photo below) start their downswing pulling there left shoulder to genertae power forcing the arms and club to follow producing a steep shaft plane that in most cases causes a left to right ball flight. So the next time you’re on the range, work on keeping your right shoulder from moving out towards the ball as you start your downswing. This keeps your back to the target and allows your arms and club to drop down on an inside path just like all great ball strikers do.
If you want to learn how to hit a draw, practice this move and in time you’ll develop the ability to hit a beautiful draw.
