Nixon Lauritzen of Canyon Lake claimed the Boys Division title and Jeanne Padillo (pictured) of Glendale won the Girls Division, both in playoffs, in the Southern California PGA Junior Toyota Tour Cup event at Temecula Creek Inn Golf Club in Temecula.
While Lauritzen beat Max Emberson of Los Angles with a par on the first playoff hole, Padillo also made a par on the second playoff hole to turn back Annika Ishiyama of Costa Mesa.
Lauritzen, who previously won the 2022 National Fall Slam and the 2020 National Tour Fall Open, posted a score of 71-70—141, three-under-par, while Emberson equaled him at 72-69—141, with both making birdies on the 17th hole to remain even.
William Tanaka of Trabuco Canyon shot 75-68—143 to tie for third with Anderson Lee of Henderson, Nev., who finished at 77-66—143, and Harrison Gaur of Calabasas, who wound up at 73-70—143.
Luke Powell of Laguna Nigel was sixth at 70-74—144, while Winston Shen of Rancho Palos Verdes carded a score of 74-71—145 to tie for seventh with Jude Xu of Palos Verdes and Keita Yomiko of West Covina, who both also finished a 74-71—145.
Daniel Chazzan of San Diego shot 77-69—146 to tie for 10th with Tae-Hyun of Irvine, who wound up at 72-724—146, and Ian Jin of South Pasadena and Henry Cou of Irvine, who both came in at 75-71—146.
Padillo, who in 2019 won the Knollwood Spring Classic, the Encino Spring Classic and the Cleveland/Srixon Tournament of Champions, recorded a score of 71-73—144, while Ishiyama rallied to catch her at 77-67—144.
Karlee Little was third at 74-72—146, while Mia Clausen of Carlsbad shot 76-73—149 to tie for fourth with Bridget Chantharath of Irvine, who finished at 73-76—149, and Nora Qu of Irvine was sixth at 77-73—150, followed by Fay Jia of Murrieta at 75-76—151.
Rina Kawasaki of Ranchos Palos Verdes totaled 78074—142 to tie for eighth with Haying Lee of Henderson, Nev., who wound up at 76-76—152, and Annika Raja of Irvine, who came in at 74-78—152.
