Ryan Kennedy of Ventura closed with a 6-under-par 65 to win the Southern California PGA Professional Championship by six strokes over Michael Block and Chris Starkjohann on the Ranch Course at the Alisal in Solvang.
Kennedy, an instructor at Rustic Canyon Golf Club in Moorpark, posted a score of 67-71-65–203, 11-under-par, and collected $12,000.
“I had a lot of fun today,” said Kennedy, the SCPGA’s 2013 Northern Chapter Player of the Year. “We got going early and you know, I just wanted to keep riding it out. I had a feeling going into it that it was a good day. I got my lucky hat from Ireland and my lucky belt from my buddy’s club with a four-leaf clover.
“I am extremely proud to be here at this point, playing against all my buddies. I don’t even have words for it at this point; ask me tomorrow. I think there will be a lot of fun things that I’ll get to do and hopefully I’ll make the most out of all of them.”
Block, of Aliso Viejo and Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, finished at  69-70-70–209, while Starkjohann, of Oceanside and Torrey Pines Golf Club and Outings, totaled  71-65-73–209.
Scott Heyn of Glendale shot 70-71-69–210 and tied for fourth with Eric Lohman of         Newport Beach, who came in at 68-69-73–210.
Jamie Puterbaugh of Carlsbad recorded a score of 72-69-70–211 and tied for sixth with Jon Fiedler of Camarillo, who totaled 72-69-70–211, and Scott Mahlberg of San Diego, who finished at 68-70-73–211,
Ben Krug of Sunland shot 71-72-69–212 Â to tie for ninth with Dean Tonneslan of San Diego, who finished at 69-73-70–212, Erik Wolf of Palm Desert, who totaled 73-69-70–212, and Mike Miles of Huntington Beach, who came in at 70-71-71–212.
