Jay Haas and Peter Jacobsen carded a 6-under-par 48 in the second-round par-3 format to take a one-stroke lead over Fred Funk and Jeff Sluman in the Champions Division of the Big Cedar Lodge Legends of Golf at Top of the Rock Golf Course in Ridgedale, Mo.
Haas and Jacobsen recovered from a bogey on the third hole and collected seven birdies to grab the lead at 15-under.
Funk and Sluman had a bogey at No. 4, but rebounded with birdies on the next two holes en route to a 50 and finish at 14-under.
Craig Stadler and Kirk Triplett were third at 12-under, while Tom Pernice Jr. and Bob Tway came in at 11-under to tie for fourth with Andy North and Tom Watson.
In the Legends Division, Jim Colbert and Jim Thorpe shot 2-under-par 52 and were tied for the lead at 7-under with Bruce Fleisher and Larry Nelson, who had a 56.
Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player were three strokes back at 4-under in a tie for third with Butch Baird and Al Geiberger.
