Hyunseok Lim of La Palma shot a 7-under-par 65 to lead the 156-player field after the opening round of the 113th California State Open on Monday at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont.
Two shots back at 5-under par are a trio of Southern California players including J.J. Spaun (Newport Beach), Storm Lee (Murrieta), and Nico Bollini (Orange).
