Hakim wins 97th Sacramento City title

Ashkaan Hakim of San Ramon won the 97th Sacramento City Championship by one stroke over Jeffrey Yamaguchi of Fresno on the Alister MacKenzie Course at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento.

The 19-year-old Hakim, who recently finished his freshman year at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, carded a score of 67-72—139, 5-under-par, while Yamaguchi, who last month finished his career at Stanislaus State and recently teamed with Michael Jura to captured the Northern California Golf Association Four-Ball Championship with Michael Jura, wound up at 73-67—140.

Hakim captured the Modesto City Championship earlier this month with a par on the second playoff hole, and two years ago won the he Concord City Amateur and AmateurGolf.com Christmas Classic.

Sam Harned of Rocklin and the University of Nevada was third at 71-70—141, followed by Dylan McDermott of Granite Bay at 69-74—143.

Joshua Diaz of Discovery Bay totaled 71-73—144 to tie for fifth with Ash Patel of Roseville, who finished at 74-70—144, Tim Sauer of Loomis, who wound up at 70-74—144, and Robby Torres of San Jose, who came in at 74-70—144.

Beau Forest of Redding totaled 76-69—145 to tie for ninth with Dylan Otto of Kingsburg, who finished at 72-73—145, and Chase Sienkiewicz, who wound at 71-74—145.

Defending champion Devyn Fitchhorn of Vacaville tied for 35th at 7-over 151.
