Martens, who won the Carlsbad City Amateur Championship in July, posted a score of 67-72-71-72—282, making three birdies on the first four holes in the final round and adding what proved to be the winning birdie at No. 16.
Abgrall collected five birdies in the final round, including one on the last hole, but fell just short at 65-70-78-70—283, while Travis Hunter of Coto de Caza shot 71-71-68-78—288 to tie for third with Alex Lee of Seattle, who finished at 69-70-77-72—288.
Nick Molly of Indio was fifth at 65-73-79-73—290, followed by Brian Springer of Murrieta at 71-74-74-73—292 and Rik Wall of Leesburg, Va., at 74-71-74-74—293.
Tim Clack of Windermere, Fla., totaled 76-76-72-72—296 to tie for eighth with Zach Johnson of St. Cloud, Minn., who wound up at 76-72-74-74—296, Brian Polick of Valrico, Fla., who finished at 75-72-71-78—296, and Josh Dunn of Nicholasville, N.Y., who came in at 75-72-71-78—296.
Barrie Finnie of Marks, Miss., won the Palmer Flight with a score of 73-71-79-78—301, while Mark Sowlakis of San Francisco shot 74-72-81-75—302 to tie for second with Michael Rizarri of San Leandro, who wound up at 74-72-79-77—302.
In the Sarazen Flight, Antonio Rios of St. Augustine, Fla., took the title with a score of 87-77-79-83—326, followed by George Fowler of Nova Scotia at 87-85-83-73—328, and Frank Wagner of Vacaville at 91-82-81-81—335.
John Harcrow of Houston took the Hogan Flight at 77-80-77-77—311, while Robert Bollman of East Patchogue, N.Y., shot 80-83-78-71—312 to tie for second with Michael Schmidt of Rowlett, Texas, who wound up at 78-79-80-75—312.
TK Kobayashi of Las Vegas claimed the Jones Flight with a score of 83-80-82-89—344, followed by Jonathan Colon of Atlanta at 82-81-86-91—340, and Joaquin Sandoval of Inglewood at 79-84-89-90—342.
In the Snead Flight, Stephen Durham of Sherman Oaks finished first at 92-86-90-93—361, followed by Ellen Strickland of Glendora at 81-93-96-95—365, whole Anthony Nigro of Carlsbad totaled 88-86-92-101—367 to tie for third with Lloyd Kulisek of Coram, N.Y., who came in at 90-83-98-96—367.
