Brandon Gama of Santa Barbara, playing on his home course, captured the 2018 Santa Barbara County Amateur Championship by two strokes over Ramie Sprinkling of Camarillo at La Purisima Golf Course http://www.lapurisimagolf.com in Lompoc.
Gama, who also won the 51st Southern California Golf Association Public Links Championship in August and the 2008 Santa Barbara City Championship, posted a score of 71-74—155, 1-over-par, while Sprinkling, the 2016 Santa Barbara County champion, was second at 74-73—147, followed by defending champion Alton Anderson at 73-75—148, Keith Moles of Santa Maria at 70-81—151, and Jerry Ledzinki of Carmel at 75-77—152.
Jeffrey Perry of San Luis Obispo was sixth at 76-73—753, while Mark Sider of Lake Forest totaled 72-82—144 to tie for seventh with Kelly Foy of Santa Barbara, who finished at 75-79—144, and Jason Payne of Oxnard shot 75-80—145 to tie for 10th with Brian Schenk of Santa Cruz, who wound up at 79-76—145.
In the Net Division, Robert Campbell took the title with a score of 67-68—135, finishing four strokes ahead of Steve Yavorsky of Capistrano Beach.
