Fischer-Garrehy Take NCPGA Winter Title

Todd Fischer of Pleasanton and Dustin Garrehy of Danville made birdie in a playoff to defeat Thomas Fong of Concord and Steve Watanabe of Pleasant Hill and win the Northern California PGA’s BAC Winter Tour event at Poppy Ridge Golf Course https://poppyridgegolf.com in Livermore.

Fischer (pictured)-Garrehy and Fong-Watanabe both birdied the last hole of regulation to finish even at 5-under-par 67, with both twosomes carding only a single bogey in their rounds.

Matthew Anderson of Santa Rosa and Chris Gay of Rhonert Park were third with a 68 that included an eagle on the ninth hole, followed by Tom Smith of Daly City and Patrick Bloom, who also eagled No. 9 in their 71.

Brian Brake of San Ramon and Matt Capasspo of Pleasanton shot 72 to tie for fifth with Hae Lee of Union City and Jody Cartez of San Jose, and Kyle Brannon of Saratoga and Andy Kimball of Redwood City.

David Knox of Sacramento and Tim Johnson of Fremont finished eighth at 73, while Justin Saragueta of Ventura and Nathan McMullen of San Jose finished at 75 to tie for ninth with Philip Simpson and Miguel Zulueta of Vallejo.
