Callaway Golf designer Roger Cleveland has gone all out to produce wedges that give even recreational players the chance to apply lots of spin and thus control on short shots. To provide the best conditions for maximum spin the Jaws Raw Wedges use a combination of sharp walled grooves, a raw un-plated face that over time will rust for added friction and what Callaway calls “Groove-in-Groove Technology” –milled micro-grooves.
The Jaws Raw models also have a less curved leading edge and a smooth hosel transition without the notch close to the heel of many other wedges plus hosels are loft-dependent variable length. A new low bounce Z grind has been added to the family especially to provide a more forgiving model for shot makers.
Lob and sand models have tungsten weighting to ensure the head’s center of gravity is properly positioned with a slight chamfer of the leading edge.
