Anupansuebsai Wins Bayonet Black Horse Am

Puwit Anupansuebsai of Thailand and San Diego State pulled away from the field on the back nine in the final round to win the Bayonet Black Horse Amateur https://www.bayonetblackhorse.com by four strokes at Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Club in Seaside.

Anupansuebsai, an All-West Mountain West Conference selection last season who lives in Anaheim and played high school golf at Anaheim Discovery Christian School, made three birdies on the both nines in the final round to pull away from Nicklaus Rivera of Seaside and Andrew Gibson of Scotland.

Winner of the Future Champions Golf Western States Players Cup and the Corey Pavin Invitational in recent years, Anupansuebsai posted a score of 70-72-67—209, 7-under-par, while Rivera finished at 69-74-70—213 to tie Gibson at 67-76-70—213, and Christian Banke of Danville, runner-up in the recent California Amateur Championship, was fourth at 68-72-74—214.

Michael Cliff of Fresno totaled 73-69-73—215 to tie for fifth with Austin Murphy of Morgan Hill (70-78-67—215), Daniel Kim of San Jose (75-70-70—215), Donald Kay of San Diego (73-72-70—215), Michael Knop of Pleasanton (72-70-73—215) and Matt Lloyd of San Jose (72-72-71—215).
