Anthony Wins NCGA Mid-Amateur

Jason Anthony of Fairfield continued his not streak by winning the 38th Northern California Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship by three strokes over defending champion Matt Cohn of San Francisco and 2017 winner Bobby Bucey of Concord at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach.

The 36-year-old Anthony, a member at the Olympic Club in San Francisco who was the 2017 NCGA Player of the Year, has finished first or second in the six tournaments he has played this season.

“I really didn’t have my ‘A’ game so it shows me that I’m progressing,” said Anthony, who won by three shots after shooting his second straight 67 for a two-day total of 8-under 134. “It excites me for the future.

“Life’s good all the time. Right now though, it’s really good.”
