Anthony ties for 4th, California is 15th

Jason Anthony tied for fourth, but California faded to 15th in the final round of the 11th USGA Men’s State Team Championship at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.

Anthony, of Fairfield, finished with a score of 70-71-76–217, 4-over-par, which left him a tie for fourth in the individual standings, four strokes behind champion Brandon Adlyett of Metairie, La., who wound up at 68-74-71–213.

Tim Hogarth of Northridge posted a score of 75-74-82–231 and Dan Sullivan of Pasadena wound up at 78-79-77–234.

With the best two scores of the three-man team counting each day, California totaled at 145-145-153–443, 11-over-par.

Texas claimed the team title at 144-139-145–428, with Florida second at 143-146-142–431. The Texans won for the fourth time, with Minnesota second with two titles. California finished second in 1997 and 2003, but has never won the biennial event.
