Anthony-Rangel take Marin County 4-Ball

Jason Anthony of Fairfield and Jeff Rangel of Martinez rallied in the afternoon round to win the Marin County Four-Ball Championship by three strokes at the Meadow Club in Fairfax.

Anthony (pictured right), the reigning San Francisco City champion, and Rangel carded a score of 64-64—128, 14-under-par, while Ryan Wilson of Novato and Tommy Semereaux of San Francisco totaled 67-64—131 to tie for second with Sylvester Gama of Santa Barbara and Anthony Verna of Orinda, who also wound up at 67-64—131.

Defending champions Matt Cohn of San Francisco and Nick Moore of Seaside led after the morning round but finished fourth at 62-70—132, followed by Craig Cucinella of San Francisco and Erick Northroup of Corte Madera, who shot 70-65—135, while Jackson Heitt and Jeff Heitt of Pleasanton posted a score of 71-65—136 to tie for sixth with Richard Davison of Sonoma and Chris Petersen of Napa, who came in at 68-68—136.

Tyson Briner of Pleasanton and Chris Young of San Jose were eighth at 68-69—137, followed by Mike Burlison of Fairfield and August Thompson of Sonoma at 67-71—138 and Austin Dean of San Rafael and Todd Schneider of Mill Valley at 72-67—139.

In the Senior Division, Todd Barsotti of Fresno and Jeff Wilson of Fairfield won with a score of 64-64—128, followed by Steve Hoyt of Moraga and Dennis Martin of Oakland at 65-64—129, and Casey Boyns of Pacific Grove and Jeff Britton of Carmel at 69-62—131.

Mike Maurice and Rick Sepp, both Alameda, shot 66-67—133 to tie for fourth with Eric Smith of Tiburon and Corey West of Martinez, who finished at 66-67—133, and Terry Foreman Brentwood and Jim Williams of Orinda, who wound up at 66-67—133.

Mark Morgan of El Dorado Hills and Todd Palmaer of Sacramento were seventh at 66-68—134, while Bruce Cardinal of Mill Valley and Al Oppenheim of Fairfield wound up at 69-66—135 to tie for eighth with Hunter Nelson of Fairfield and Frank Pieper of Carmel, who came in at 66-69—135.

Neil Pearson of Orinda and Tony Wilmer San Mateo won the Super Senior title with a score of 69-74—143, followed by George Brittain Jr. of Sebastopol and Estok Menton of Ukiah at 73-76—149, and Alan Schneider of San Francisco and Gary Shemano of Kentfield at 76-75—151.
