Corey Weworski of Carlsbad and Fey Chen of Huntington Beach tied for medalist honors in Southern California qualifying for the 67th United States Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club (www.rsfgolfclub.com).
Lynn Cowan of Rocklin shared medalist honors with Rachel Moreaux of Petaluma in Northern California qualifying La Rinconada Country Club La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos.
The U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur will be played on Oct. 6-11 at Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club (www.orchidislandgolfandbeachclub.com) in Vero Beach, Fla.
Weworski (pictured), the 2004 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion, and Chen led the way at Rancho Santa Fe with scores of 2-over-par 74.
Other qualifiers at Rancho Santa Fe included Ann Haddad of San Diego and Monica Townsend of El Paso, Texas, at 77; Cindy McConnell of Malibu and Caryn Wilson of Rancho Mirage at 78; Kathy Kurata of Los Angeles, who won the Southern California Amateur in February, 79-year-old Annette Gaiotti of Park City, Hawaii, Jamie Hoffman of Escondido, Carol Sarkissian of Chino Hills; Lisa Stanley of Encinitas, and Suzie Young of Oceanside, all at 79, and Marianne Towersey of Pebble Beach and Lara Tennant of Portland, Ore., both at 80.
Cowan, who has won four California Amateur titles and in May claimed the California Senior Women’s title for the third time, and Moreaux finished at 2-over-par 75 at La Rinconada, and Suzanne Ledet of El Dorado Hills also qualified at 80.
