Tiger Woods, coming back from his fourth back surgery in recent years, has received clearance from his doctors to resume “full golf activity with no restrictions,” according to his agent, Mark Steinberg.
Steinberg said Woods received the all clear during an appointment with his surgeon.
“He got a nice report and is allowed to proceed,” Steinberg told ESPN. “He can do as much as he needs to do. Tiger is going to take this very, very slowly. This is good, but he plans to do it the right way.
“We aren’t even discussing (when he will play tournament golf). He’s told me he’s going to take it very, very slowly.”
Woods has displayed his progress to fans in recent months with posts on social media, starting with a video in August showing him hitting chip shots. That was followed on Oct. 7 by a video of Woods hitting full iron shots.
On Sunday, he posted a video of him taking full swings with a driver, accompanied by the caption, “Making Progress.”
The 41-year-old Woods hasn’t played since withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic because of back spasms last February, and he underwent anterior lumbar fusion surgery on April 19.
Woods, who was the No. 1 golfer for a record 683 weeks during his career, has 79 PGA Tour victories including 14 major titles, and has said if he can get healthy he still believes he can equal or break the records of 82 titles held by Sam Snead and 18 majors won by Jack Nicklaus.
