Worldwide Golf Shops announced that the remainder of its Roger Dunn Golf Shops and Golf Marts in Southern California will reopen with curbside service only on Friday for the first time since they were shut down because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Previously only four Roger Dunns were open and offering curbside service in Mission Viejo, Seal Beach, Santa Ana and Indio.
In addition, the Golf Marts at Del Mar Golf Center and Carlsbad Golf Center in San Diego County, the only World Wide stores that have been completely open for service in California, remain open.
However, now the Golf Marts in Encinitas, Escondido and San Diego will provide curbside service.
The stores will be open from Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on Sunday.
“This makes sense because golfers are starting to play again and we can offer then golf balls, gloves and other equipment they need,” said Rick Levy, vice president of marketing for World Wide golf. “We are happy to be able to offer them the equipment they need, and I think we are getting closer to things opening up completely, but we still have a little ways to go.
“But golf is the perfect recreation for people who want to get out of the house because you gent plenty of exercise and there is a lot of social distancing involved. It’s in the spirit of the game. You don’t stand right on top of people in your foursome when they are hitting shots, you give them plenty of room on the putting green and you don’t have to walk very close down the fairway.
“What better way to go out and spend three or four hours with your friends?”
In other parts of Southern California, Roger Dunn Golf Shops from Newbury Park to Mission Viejo all are open with curbside service only, including those in West Los Angeles, North Hollywood, Canoga Park, Santa Ana, Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga, Seal Beach and more.
All golfers have to do is call in and order the products they want, drive to the store and park at the curb, where employees all are wearing masks and gloves. They retrieve your order, place it in your car and you go on your way.
Unfortunately, all Golf Mart stores remain closed in Northern California until further notice.
