Lee up to T5 in Web.com Q-School

Tain Lee continued his climb back up the leaderboard by shooting 4-under-par 68 in the fifth of sixth rounds and was tied for fifth in the Web.com Qualifying Tournament at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Lee, the 2010 NCAA Division III national champion while at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, held the first-round lead with a 7-under-par 65 before falling back with a 77. The 24-year-old from San Juan Capistrano has bounced back with scores of 65-69-68.

Brad Fritsch of Canada shot 70 and holds a five-stroke lead over Andrew Landry of Austin, Texas, who came in with a 67.

Rhein Gibson of Australia carded a 65 and was tied for third with Matt Fast of Baton Rogue, La., who had a 68.

Jeff Gove of San Marcos and Pepperdine shot 66 and was in a tie for 15th that included Andrew Yun (67), who played at Stanford.

Cameron Wilson, the 2014 NCAA individual champion from Stanford, posted a 70 and was tied for 18th, while Ben Geyer of Arbuckle and St. Mary’s in Moraga recorded a 69 to tie for 28th.

Every player in the field has earned conditional status on the Web.com Tour in 2015 by virtue of reaching the Qualifying Tournament finals. The higher a player finishes at Q-School, the more events he will be eligible to play next season.
