Ellie Bushnell of Granite Hills captured her sixth tournament tile of 2020, winning the Girls 15-18 Division by two strokes over Tiffany Le of Covina in the 12th annual FCG Callaway World Golf Championship at Temecula Creek Golf Club in Temecula.
Bushnell, a sophomore at Granite Bay High, also was medalist in the 2019 California Interscholastic Federation Northern California Girls Golf Championships while helping the Grizzly Bears claim the team title, and finished ninth in the CIF Girls State Championship as Granite Bay wound up fourth.
At Temecula Creek, Bushnell posted a score of 67-74-75—216, 3-over-par, while Le finished at 78-68-72—218, and Angela Heo of Murrieta was third at 73-75-71—219.
Gabriella Kano of Fullerton shot 77-70-74—211 to tie for fourth with Jade Gruhder of Camas, Wash., who finished at 74-73-74—221, and Skyler May of Stockton, who wound up at 70-75-76—221.
Madison Pineda of San Carlos was seventh at 74-72-76—222, followed by Kirstin Angosta of Henderson, Nev., who totaled 76-76-71—223, while Adeline Anderson of Ventura totaled 75-76-73—224 to tie for ninth with Kiara Hernandez of Burbank, who came in at 79-72-73—224.
In the Boys 15-18 Division, Simon Kwon of Salt Lake City claimed the title with a score of 66-66-66—198, followed by Jaden Huggins of Murrieta at 70-67-68—215, while Brenden Borck of Camarillo shot 70-71-65—206 to tie for third with Brannon Fahrny of Anaheim, who finished at 69-71-66—206, and Ryan Plodkowski of San Diego at 69-71-66—206.
Gavin McCormick of Thousand Oaks was sixth at 65-72-70—207, while Tommy Kimberling of Rancho Cucamonga totaled 68-72-68—208 to tie for seventh with Maxwell Lange of Golden, Colo., who finished at 70-69-69—208, Peter Kim of Draper, Utah, who wound up at 72-66-70—208, and Hogan Park of Walnut, who came in at 67-71-70—208.
