About
The Bayonet and Black Horse golf courses in the Monterey Peninsula’s Seaside community are a one-two punch of stunning golf. Bayonet, one of the top challenges in the state—figures so, considering it was once part of the Army’s Fort Ord base and designed in 1954 by Army General Robert McClure. Black Horse, known to be the slightly easier of the two sits beside Bayonet and was also designed by a general (General Edwin Carnes) in 1964, but plays a few strokes easier in our opinion. Together, Bayonet and Black Horse regularly earn acclaim for outstanding conditioning and the stiff test it provides players of all abilities.
