Stanford’s Lee earns October awards

Andrea Lee of Stanford has been selected Amateur of the Month for October by the Southern Golf Association in Birmingham, Ala.

Lee, a 19-year-old sophomore from Hermosa Beach, tied for first at the Stanford Intercollegiate at Pebble Beach and won the Nanea Pac-12 Preview in Hawaii in October, while also tying for third in the Annika Invitation and tying for second in the East Lake Cup.

In nine rounds, Lee posted a cumulative score of 20-under-par and also was selected Player of the Month by the Pacific 12 Conference.

Lee, the 2017 PING/Women’s Golf Coaches Association Freshman of the Year and a WGCA First Team All-American, is No. 1 on the Annika Award Watch List, No. 4 in the Golfweek Women’s College Rankings and No. 5 in the Women’s World Amateur Rankings.

In addition to winning three times as a freshman at Stanford, Lee also won the 2017 Southern California Women’s Amateur Championship, helped the United States team win the gold medal at the 2017 University Games in Taiwan and played for the U.S. team in the 2016 Curtis Cup.
