Blus win SCGA Senior Women’s 4-ball title

Susan (right) and Tania Blu of Palm Valley Country Club in Palm Desert captured the Southern California Golf Association’s Senior Women’s Four-Ball Net Championship by four strokes at Marrakesh Country Club and Chaparral Country Club in Palm Desert.

Both executive courses have a par of 60.

The Blus finished with a score of 53-52—105, 15-under par, followed by Carol Wilson and DeeAnn Myers of Virginia Country Club in Long Beach at 56-53—109.

Judy Anderson of Bakersfield Country Club and Karen Fischer of Lake Arrowhead Country Club totaled 60-50—110 to tie for third with Jan Thomson and Mei Teal of Sunrise Country Club in Rancho Mirage, who wound up at 59-51—110, and Beverly Gallacher and Joyce Brown of Chaparral Women’s Golf Club, who came in at 58-52—110.

Margaret Miller of EWGA-Orange County and Wendy Jacobs of Industry Hills Golf Club finished at 61-50—111 to tie for sixth with Madeline Empey of Palm Valley Country Club and Sharon Strople of Indian Wells Country Club, who wound up at 55-56—111.

Elizabeth Chan and Kim Gonzalez of Brookside Women’s Golf Club in Pasadena carded a score of 58-54—112 to tie for eighth with Diane McMillan and Margaret Smith of Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort, who also totaled 58-54—112, and Jeanne Hartman and Melissa Losson of Industry Hills Golf Club, who came in at 54-58—112.
