Bisharat wins San Diego Amateur by 4

Ryan Bisharat of El Cajon captured the San Diego Amateur Championship, presented by Callaway Golf, by four strokes over Ashwin Arasu of San Diego at Park Hyatt Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad.

Bisharat (pictured right), a junior at Cal State San Marcos, missed only four greens in 36 holes while posting a score of 74-69—143, 1-under-par, and was the only player in the field under par after two rounds.

Arasu (pictured left), a Stanford sophomore, finished at 74-73—147, followed by Sam Kim of Irvine, who was in the hunt until making a triple-bogey on the 17th hole to wind up at 74-74—148.

Everton Hawkins of Irvine shot 76-73—149 to tie for seventh with Edwin Kuang of Murrieta, who totaled 74-75—149, and Dylan VanderVeer of El Dorado Hills, who came in at 78-71—149.

Chris Casey of Irvine finished at 76-74—150 to tie for seventh with Michael Herrera of Moreno Valley, who shot 78-72—150, and Tanner Podres of Laguna Niguel, who wound up at 75-75—150.

Brandon Mai of Poway carded a score of 75-76—151 to tie for 10th with Cullen Plousha (74-77—151), of Carlsbad, Jonathan Saunders (79-72—151) of Long Beach, Christopher Tuulik (77-74—151) of San Diego, Jake Williams (75-76—151), and Rovonto Young (76-75—151) of Rancho Cucamonga.
